Potting Mix & Soil Preparation

01

A good potting mix is essential for healthy plant growth in containers. Here's how to

prepare it properly at home:

Drainage Tip:

03

Add small stones or broken pottery at the bottom of containers to:

  • Improve drainage.

  • Prevent water stagnation

Pollinators

05

Bees are excellent pollinators that can help provide a self sustaining garden because they transfer pollen from one plant to another. If the bees stay it also means that you have created a healthy environment.

Components of a potting mix

02

• 30% Soil – Base medium for structure and weight.

• 30% Compost (vermicompost) – Organic nutrition for the plant.

• 25% Cocopeat – Improves water retention and aeration.

• 10% Neem Khali – Acts as a natural pesticide and adds nitrogen.

• 5% Sand – Enhances drainage and keeps the mix loose.

Liquid fertiliser

04

Use that fermented fruit/vegetable peel

water and dilute it in 1: 3 ratio (1 part liquid fertilizer, 3-part water) mix and feed the soil

every 2-3 weeks to provide nutrients your plants need for healthy growth.
